This past June Terri Starbucker posed an interesting series of questions (a meme) on his blog, Ramblings From a Glass Half Full. I've finally taken a few moments to ponder my answers.
The Questions:
1. How full is your glass?
2. What kind of glass is it?
3. What's in the glass?
4. Reasons for #1, #2, and #3
My Answers:
1. My glass is full but sometimes I forget this. When facing daily challenges, I often lose sight of the abundance in my life. And despite a quota of eight daily glasses of water to drink, I frequently forget to get started.
2. My glass is a big water bottle. But on days when I'd rather have a Coca Cola (ie., most days) it seems like an aquarium (a concept I've spoofed in the picture to the left.)
3. The glass is filled with water, room temperature. A friend from Singapore once advised me that according to Chinese tradition, room temp. is healthier. I know of nothing that says she' s right. Nothing that says she's wrong, either!
4. My glass is the way it is because I'm trying to be healthy.

Thanks for your comments, Sandy! I'll have to post more on the water temperature question for further discussion. I have speculated that drinking tea made with heated water (not quite hot) even has a calming effect. Or perhaps that's just the effect of my green tea?

Brenda,
Love the aquarium concept. It feels that way to me some days, too. I can imagine the fish swimming around in my stomach...
I am also a believer in no ice. Room temp is good. Guess we'll have to find some data to back up that claim! And I also believe in hot water (with lemon).

Terry, Thanks for getting this meme started. I've checked out all or most of the links from your blog and the responses really run the gamut!

Hi Brenda - thanks for participating in this meme. Interesting note about whether it's better to drink water at room temperature - my wife and I are big believers in that; I can't even drink cold water anymore (it gives me a headache). So count us in the "it's better for you" camp. Thanks again, and all the best!
