Fruit for thought
This morning as I was making toast, I ate a tangerine. No ... I devoured a tangerine. And, as I grabbed bread from the toaster, it hit me that my morning fruit was darn tasty. At least I think it was. I really hadn't been paying attention, but the lingering flavor had definitely made an impression.
And this is when I realized just how important mindfulness is to inspiration. In my post the other day, I come to the conclusion that perhaps all inspiration is ... is a "reminder that I'm living within a miracle." I know I'd find those reminders more often, if I'd consciously focus on my environment. If I'd sit down for breakfast and savor the flavor of each bite. If I'd really listen to the music that was playing. Or look out onto the bleak winter landscape and consider how each tree, beneath the surface, is already preparing its spring display. The inspiration is here all about me... and has always been here ... if I'm just of a mind to see it.
Are you mindful of the moments and miracles in your world? What are the observations that bring you inspiration?
