"Route 365 (the road inherent in this blog's name, Enroute 365) is a metaphorical highway. It represents the human journey through life, one we travel 365 days a year. In each day we have the opportunity to learn (and share) about ourselves, our world and each other. I invite you to spend some time from your days to travel with me."
Not too long ago I was asked where Route 365 (the road seen in this blog's banner and inherent in it's name, Enroute 365) was headed. Great question!
Route 365 is a metaphorical highway.
For me, it represents the human journey through life, one we travel 365
days a year. I'm not sure any of us really knows where our paths will
lead. Sure, many of us hold road maps for the future -- I, for one,
have an ambitious multi-year plan. And, most follow what I'll call
travel guides -- personal philosophies, religious beliefs or moral
compasses -- that help us navigate.
But, ultimately, I've found it's not the destination that creates meaning for me, but each of those 365 days in every year I'm given. In each day we have the opportunity to learn (and share) about ourselves, our world and each other. That is what makes the life journey worthwhile ... and why I invite you to spend some time from your days to travel with me.

Stumble It!

Brenda,
Life is not a destination but a continuous journey. You are correct we continue on that journey 24 hours a day 365 days a year, and every intersection we come to is a chance to make a decision and move us along the great journey called life.

I'm glad you dropped by my blog so I could find yours - thanks!
I believe that life is all about the journey and our growth. I could talk about this forever.
I'll be back!!!

Titania, I'm with you! I find hope in seeing how far I've come thus far. Looking back is part of the journey for most of us, I think ... even for Socrates who realized, "the unexamined life is not worth living."
Rebecca, I look forward to re-visiting your blog! I have a lot of questions about this whole raw food thing.
Phil, Glad you stopped by! It's been a long while since I commented on your blog, but I've had you in my sights for some time now (and get your feed) and always enjoy your diverse content!

Brenda, I am so glad to have found your blog (followed you through the MyBlogLog icon). My site, though traveling down different themes is about ideas. Gonna add you to my blogroll (so I'll remember to stop-in). Great stuff, and great commentary on the flooding. Being down in Texas it's great to get more personal take on what's happening up there.

Thanks for stopping by. We have family in Des Moines.
Interesting how many of us are asking the deeper questions these days, huh? As Martha puts it...it's a good thing.

Life is certainly a journey like no other. I heard a lot of people say you should never look back but I say... if you don't look back you cannot see how far you have come. I've come a long way, baby! :o)
Awesome concept for your blog.
Blessings,
T.

Jonathon (a.k.a. Victor)- I'm so glad you stopped by. You're welcome here anytime!
Monica - You know, when I think what part of my journey has been meandering vs the segments that have been planned out, the former has been so much more fun and rewarding! And I've really enjoyed my latest visits to your blog for some light-hearted moments viewing the crazy pet (and wildlife) pix! What great fun!

Oh I love this thought! You are SO correct in the Journey vs. Destination. I now ultimately where I'm gonna end up, I just wanna have fun, contribute to others, and LIVE, LAUGH and LEARN while I'm on the journey.
Very good post! I love the enroute365!
Hugs,
Monica

I, for one, am more than happy to spend some days each year travelling on this journey with you! :)
I couldn’t agree more re the Journey Vs Destination philosophy… I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned before some books I’ve read which, although ostensibly “humorous travel tales,” are, in my opinion, highly poignant reminders of the irrelevance of destinations as opposed to how we get there. To whit…
“Yes Man” – by Danny Wallace … in which the author describes what happened when he decided to say “Yes” to everything
“One Hit Wonderland” – by Tony Hawks … in which the author describes what happened when he took up the challenge to have a hit record in any country of his choosing
“Dave Gorman’s Googlewhack Adventure” – by Dave Gorman … in which the author describes what happened when he embarked upon a global Googlewhack adventure (look up “Googlewhack” on the Internet if you are highly baffled as to what this means!)
All worth seeking out in your local library/bookshop! :)
